When sales are slow it is tough for us to come up with these funds. It is times like these that we need a little help coming up with the funds to purchase hay and bedding for the large animals, food and litter for the cats and food and vitamins for the dogs.

Autumn

To sponsor all of Autumn'\s current medical needs:

$98
Autumn was first seen around the farm in November of 2011, after unsucessful attempts to live trap this shy girl for about a month we finally got herinto a kennel to be examined. We were worried she was sick because she is so small but once we had a chance toget a goodlook at her we determined she is just young. Autumn is waiting to be spayed and Vaccinated so she can be released. She is a very wild kitty and doesnot enjoy her captivity. We hope to have her spayed soon so we can get her back out on to the farm where she is more comfortable.

Tasha

Tasha

To sponsor all of Tasha's current medical needs:

$98
Tasha lived here before we did! When we moved into our home, a beat up, falling down old farm house, there were 2 tomcats and 20 unspayed mamas, non of which were friendly to people. Tasha was the first cat to come up and introduce herself - to my ham sandwich! From then on, we had a good friend. Her friendship was invaluable to me as I was starting my business, had left my job at United Health Care, was out here alone, trying to figure things out and she helped ease the transition. Tasha moved into the house a year ago after her age started showing and life outside was getting to hard on her. We love having her with us! Tasha did not want her photo taken!

Raja

Raja

Raja was a baby brought to us 2010 with Violet below. We recently connected with MNSNAP; Minnesota Spay and Neuter Assistance Program and were able to neuter and get Rabies shots for Raja. Raja is a talker and so very personable - he helps Heather type and me garden - he loves the children (and puts up with them).

Adopted!!!

Violet

Violet

To sponsor all of Violet's current medical needs:

$98
Violet is a sweet girl and brother to Raja. They were adopted out as a pair and then brought back to us when their new family found their youngest had an allergy - they were truly heartbroken as Violet and Raja are really gentle and sweet cats. Violet is spade through MNSNAP and very fun. They are both in transition from kitten to cat so they are very lanky.

Jake

Jake

Jake, also known as Stash for the "mustache" on his face, was born in our kennels shortly after a VERY pregnant mama was brought to us around christmas 2010. He is a fan of the children and they carry him around like a rag doll and he loves it! He has the softest fur and is a lover. He helps type and garden and chalk the sidewalk. He is a true butterfly chaser and is hysterical to watch!

Adopted!!!

Trapper

Trapper

Trapper came to us 2010 with a trap on his foot. We removed the trap and cared for the wound and he is doing great! He is a very different looking kitty and loves attention. We let him inside the store for the night and then he wonders the farm during the day.

Adopted!!!

Sophia

Sophia

Sophia came in as a rescue. We had her spade and her shots 2010 through MNSNAP. She is such a girl! When she wants love, she is readily available, but when she wants her space, she will let you know! She is a true girl!

Adopted!!!

Honey

To sponsor all of Honey's current medical needs:

$103
Honey has been at the farm for years. She showed up one day pregnant. It took me several years to make friends with her as she was truly a wild cat. Once I could handle her, we had her spade through MNSNAP and she has been a wonderful cat since - although I am the only one who can touch her. She still has a bit of the wild mentality but trusts me enough to give her the vaccines.

Bama was another kitty who was dumped here at the farm. Thanks to MNSnap and generous donations Bama was spayed October 2011 after her litter she delivered in spring of 2011. Bama has been wild her whole life and will probably never acclimate to "house life" but we are happy to have her aspart of our "Spay, Vaccinate and release program to control over population. Once every year she will be live trapped and vaccinated as well as get an exam tomake sure she is doing alright and will then be released back on to the farm for pest control :) Everyone has their place here!

Tatters is such a funny Kitty! Tatters was found at the local gas station a few years ago under a propane tank and was a complete mess. When she came to us there was hardly anything to her, she was full of worms and fleas, which is how she came to her name. Still a little wild side to her, Tatter can usually be found hiding under the kitchen Table, Laying on top of a heat vent, or when she thinks no one is looking, she will cuddle up with Frank :)

Bobcat

Bobcat

To sponsor all of Bobcat's current medical needs:

$103
Bobcat showed up a month or so ago very much an intact boy. He would go around beating up all of our other cats, yet wanted love from all of the people. We quarantined him and had him neutered through MNSNAP program and once he got that testosterone out of his system, he meshed in with our kitty herd much better! He only has part of a tail which is how we came to name him. He is very snuggly but we are not suppose to let anyone know so we don't hurt his rep!

Lucy

Lucy

Unfortunately Lucy has Passed away. Lucy Lived out her last 3 years in a Loving foster home before she lost use of her back end and due to her age, was not eligable for surgery. When Lucy came in about 3 years ago, she had been dumped on a cow farm, ran away, and was found in a ditch. She had a skin problem which was kept at bay by keeping her shaved. She was an older girl who liked it quiet in a 1:1 environment. She will be fondly remembered.

Bob

Bob

Bob Passed away in October of 2011, he was adored by everyone who ever met him, the gentelest soul ever. Bob came to us in 2010 after being hit by a truck. He has severe brain damage and lost his tail. He recovered fairly well from the accident and we gave him the best life we could for hislast year of life. we will always remember how he was afraid to walk on the hard wood floors so we were always moving rugs and had paths for him to walk around on. Bob looked pretty funny, but he was so loving and loved to give hugs! He would come up to you and almost knock you over leaning his head into your leg or hip to give hugs. If the kids got hurt or cry, he would come and lay down at their feet. Bob was so awesome! Unfortunately in early 2011 we found non plyable tumors - which are normally the bad ones - we didn't care- he was part of our extended family and was treated like a king while he was here on earth!

Riley

Riley

To sponsor all of Riley's current medical needs

$103
Riley joined our family about 4 years ago at a request from a family member. Riley had been purchased from a breeder as a puppy by a daycare provider for $900 as he is a pure bread tri-color collie. The gal that bought him was afraid that he would be too much for her daycare children so she had him locked in a kennel in her garage for 2 years! A concerned client requested to adopt Riley as his quality of life was severely limited. He knew that Riley deserved much more than a kennel in a garage. Due to the lack of socializing and feeding, Riley came to us with severe social anxiety issues, food and aggression issues. Tom took Riley to dog training classes and continues to try to work with him. He is a wonderful dog, but needs to be protected by keeping him from situations that would cause Riley to act poorly. We love him and enjoying watching him live his life out here on the farm!

Polly

Polly

Polly came to us about a 2 years ago with severe lymes disease causing an infection which ate away at her leg joints which make walking very painful. She also has severe ear infections we were able to get under control, the other ear is constantly infected which we treat at least monthly. We are so surprised with as much pain that she has been in that she is such a loving dog. Polly is famous for the sniper licks in the face and she looks a little funny as her head seams much larger than her body due to the disintegration of her body.
Update: Sadly, Polly went to Heaven in May. This was one of the hardest times I have had running our rescue. She was such a wonderful dog and provided us with love up to the end. Polly is the reason why I continue to do what I do -

Kuskoo

To sponsor all of Kuskoo's current medical needs:

$108
Kuskoo is a gelded male Llama who we took from a farm in Minnesota last summer. His feet were so over grown they had crossed, his fines (coat) was so overgrown that we found pine cones, branches, sticks, twine and barbed wire underneath the layers, and his halter had grown into his skull. Kuskoo is a very protective boy looking out for his girls! He is very curious about everything and tries to get involved in everything. He thinks that I am a llama and tries to show dominance over me often. He is the only one who has spit when he first came in but now it is very, very rare.

Hannah is a female Llama who we took from a farm in Minnesota last summer. Her feet were so over grown they had crossed, her fines (coat) was so overgrown that we found pine cones, branches, sticks, twine and barbed wire underneath the layers. Hannah is the most social of the llamas. The first night the llamas were here - Hannah and Montana were in a stall next to Kuskoo - I was trying to remove the garbage from their fines - Kuskoo was really uncertain of me and was concerned for his girls - he prepared to spit at me - during this - Hannah stood between Kuskoo and myself and put her ears back and actually spit at Kuskoo and protected me. Watching and caring for them has been a learning joy!

Topher

Topher

Topher is a pygmy goat that we brought to the farm when Gracie was about 18 months old. We wanted a barn animal that she could safely play with. He has such as special personality, he has been wonderful for the children. Gracie is now 8 so Topher is 6 going on 7. We adopted Topher when he was about 3 months old along with an adult female we called Bella. Bella had a baby who didn't survive and they didn't want her anymore which we thought very sad. Bella passed away last spring - there must have been something wrong with her for her to pass so early in life. About a month after we loss Bella is when we took in the fainting goats Micky & Goofy. It took a while, but Topher is now part of their herd. He has trouble playing on an even ground as he doesn't have horns. Micky & Goofy don't try to hurt him with their horns, but their horns are soooo huge that the horses don't challenge them!

Francie

Francis

Mommy's Baby!

I brought Francis home the first month we moved to the farm. She was previously owned by a 16 year old cowboy who broke and trained her. Franny has been a fabulous horse for us. She went for about 5 years without being ridden due to our 'baby years'. During this time I would come into her stall at night all big and pregnant and would sit on her as she was laying down in her stall. She is so gentle, but yet very fun to ride!
Molly

Molly

We brought Molly to our Barn when we lost Monte, Franny's Partner for the past 10 years. Molly has been an interesting addition to our family. She is a fabulous riding horse, a bit lazy and stubborn if you let her, but generally great to ride. She is a no color Registered Paint Mare Moose! She has absolutely no withers (shoulders where the saddle is to sit) and when you add her barrel figure, well lets just say I learned what a neoprene cinch was very quickly so I didn't ride her upside down! It took a while for me to figure out why my saddle kept twisting, and she was great, just standing there laughing at me but took care not to hurt me!

Brooks & Annie

Brooks & Annie

Cart Girls

I brought Brooks and Annie, who are cousins, as soon as they came off of their mom. Shetland's have a much different personality from the minis as they don't realize that they are not horses and are just as strong willed and Brooks is actually the leader of our herd! She and Molly have a 'Hat field and McCoy relationship and Brooks seems to come out on top most of the time!Annie is much more calm and laid back. When she was younger she foundered and we now have to watch her very closely. When the grass is really rich and full, we need to dry doc her. She sits at the fence and neighs constantly complaining about the unusual punishment. Occasionally Brooks will break her out - she is the best escape artist I have ever met!

Brooks & Annie are being trained to pull a cart for the Holiday Parade the weekend of Thanksgiving to celebrate the lights of town being turned on. Our cart will say 'Jensen's Country Store, Boarding & Animal Rescue' We may have Rennie leading the girls. We have 8 children between my sister and I and they will be handing out candy in their prince outfits & princess dress (over their snowsuits if holding true to form for Minnesota)!

Manny

Manny

To sponsor all of Manny's current medical needs:

$133
Manny came in last year with Ellie as seen below. When we picked them up from the bad farm, someone told me to be careful as he was dangerous. I walked into the field and he walked up to me, snorted and put his head into my waist. He is the most gentle and loving animal I have met. We fully trust both the miniature donkeys with the children and they are hysterical! He and Rennie are better than a movie to watch - they act like toddlers fighting over a toy. Manny is about 8 where as Ellie is getting close to her time, we will be placing Manny if needed after Ellie's time with us is done and she goes to the great green pastures!

To sponsor all of Ellie's current medical needs:

$133
Ellie & Manny have been together for quite some time. When they came in their feet were over 16 inches long. It took almost 6 months to get them into a some what walkable condition. Ellie has continued to have leg and coat problems but her personality is so sweet and funny that you could tell at some point someone really loved her, absolutely not the farm we took them off of, but at some time. Ellie's greatest feature is when she goes to bray, she is soooo old, that she almost has to prime herself and work really, really hard to get a good bray going! She is very fond of head and butt rubs, and my shrubs!

Cinderella has been with us for about a year. When she came her feet were over a 1 foot and 1/2 long. They were so long that the hoof part had grown over under the foot and there is no bottom of all of her feet anymore. She has been doing well until the grass came in and then she foundered again so we put her on a 'rest' and have her in the barn on heavy mats and shavings for part of the day. She is a really little girl, she is a miniature horse and she loves Brooks. When she is walking well, she and Brooks are always together and Brooks looks out for her.

To sponsor all of Rennie's current medical needs:

$133
Rennie came off of a foreclosed farm with 2 other horses. When we came to pick up the horses, the owner was sitting on his truck with his stuff loaded drinking beer. Rennie was tied to a tree without grass, food or water. When we brought him in, he was a stallion, which we fixed immediately. I learned something really interesting that day. The vet had removed the 'items' and asked me if I wanted him to run faster, slower or the same? I looked at her confused and she continued; if I toss them ahead of him, he will run faster, behind him, slower and beside him, the same. I about fell over laughing! I guess it is a race track 'thing'. Rennie is also a watcher over Cinders, sort of protecting her from the bigger animals.
